At MYUM, the safety of little ones is our absolute priority.

Behind every VEGGY TOY lies carefully selected materials, traditional craftsmanship, and a production process that we closely oversee.

Because our toys are designed for babies and young children — who naturally explore the world with their hands, mouths, and all their senses — we pay particular attention to the quality, traceability, and safety of the materials we use.

Carefully Selected and Controlled Cotton

At MYUM, we follow our raw materials as closely as possible from their origin.

We carefully select organic cotton, using part of it for the filling of our toys. Another part is spun and dyed in the colors we have chosen for our collections, before being transformed into cotton yarn that is then crocheted by hand by our artisans.

This approach allows us to maintain close control over our production process and to pay particular attention to every stage of transformation.

Our cotton benefits from two internationally recognized certifications that reflect our high standards: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 – Class 1.

🌱 GOTS: Organic Cotton and More Responsible Production

The GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard is one of the world's leading standards for textiles made from organic fibers.

For our VEGGY TOYS, GOTS certification guarantees the use of organic cotton and also sets requirements for various environmental and social aspects throughout the production chain.

The GOTS standard addresses different stages of textile processing and manufacturing, with requirements relating to the use of chemicals, wastewater treatment, and social criteria throughout the supply chain.

For MYUM, choosing GOTS-certified cotton means choosing a material that is organic and produced according to demanding environmental and social criteria, while paying close attention to the people involved in its production and to its environmental impact.

🧸 OEKO-TEX® Class 1: Specially Designed for the Little Ones

Our second certification is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 – Class 1.

This certification applies to textile materials and their components and tests them for harmful substances according to strict limits defined by the OEKO-TEX® standard.

Class 1 is the strictest product class and is intended for products designed for babies and children up to three years old.

This certification is particularly important to MYUM because our VEGGY TOYS are designed to be touched, cuddled, handled — and, naturally, often put into a baby's mouth.

The cotton yarn used for our toys is therefore subject to strict requirements regarding unwanted substances, helping ensure that the material is suitable for this type of use.

🔬 And We Go Even Further With Toy Safety Testing

Our material certifications are only one part of our commitment to safety.

Every new MYUM design is submitted to independent laboratories for testing to assess different aspects of the toy, including its mechanical and chemical properties.

Our toys undergo a series of tests designed to verify their strength, safety, and compliance with the regulatory requirements of the markets where they are sold.

Because a baby toy needs to withstand real life: being grabbed, pulled, squeezed, shaken, chewed, and sometimes seriously put to the test!

🌎 Testing for Every Market

MYUM distributes its creations in France, across Europe, the United States, and Japan.

Each market has its own regulatory requirements and safety standards. We therefore test our toys according to the requirements applicable to each market.

🇫🇷 France & Europe

Our VEGGY TOYS are tested according to the requirements of the European EN 71 toy safety standard and carry the CE marking when they meet the applicable requirements.

🇺🇸 United States

Our toys are tested according to the requirements of the American ASTM F963 toy safety standard.

🇯🇵 Japan

Our creations are also tested according to the requirements applicable to the Japanese market, including ST 2016.

These tests may include a variety of mechanical, physical, and chemical assessments designed to verify that the toys meet the applicable safety requirements.

Testing is carried out by specialized, independent laboratories, which provide the necessary test reports and certificates when the applicable requirements are met.
